Life is eternal and love is immortal; And death is only a horizon,
And a horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight.
Rossiter W. Raymond This memorial website was created to remember our dearest Audrey Jordan who was born in Wimbledon, England, on May 22, 1934, and passed away at home in Yorkville, Illinois, on June 6 , 2004. You will live forever in our memories and hearts. Audrey will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She left an adoring husband, Frank Jordan, three sons, Andrew Francis, David William and Richard Dean, three daughters-in-law, Mary Jane, Sue and Laura, and four grandchildren, Jason Rose, Corey Allan Jordan, Nicole Ann Jordan and Alexandria Nicole Jordan, and eventually had seven great grandchildren who never were able to meet her, Aaliyah Rayne Jordan, Elijah Francis Jordan. Alexsis Rose, Regan Rose, Xander Rose, Sophia Lynn Jordan and Kemma Jean Scents. She is greatly missed by her family and will always be remembered with love.
Audrey liked to spend time with her family and enjoyed reading every day. She sampled many things life had to offer, such as golf, concerts (Tom Jones!), and travelling around the States. She was a terrific grandmother who spent many hours caring for her grandchildren while their parents worked, attending their school concerts and sporting events and Little League games. She was a great mother-in-law who went on vacation with her daughter-in-law Sue and bowled every week with Laura, plus they all enjoyed bingo, many dinners and shopping trips together.
The first Christmas I spent away from my family was before Dave and I were married. A stocking appeared on my bed during the night. There were presents and a wonderful dinner with my new family and my future mother-in-law made me feel like I had always been part of her family!
Audrey and I went to a Tom Jones concert at Poplar Creek. We left in plenty of time, I'm pretty sure we stopped for dinner, then we started driving. And driving. And driving. And driving and driving and driving. We were just talking and laughing and enjoying the road trip. Eventually we saw a sign and realized we were pretty far into Wisconsin! We turned around and started driving faster and reached Poplar Creek in time to hear the last song!
